  Retreat

2002 Ezra Academy Retreat in Honesdale, PA
Ezra Academy's yearly Retreat has been held for the last few years at beautiful Camp Moshava in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Over 100 students and most of our Judaic staff members and administrators (along with spouses and families) spend four fun filled days, playing sports, giving shiurim and bonding with each other. The highlight of the weekend is Shabbos - a 25 hour spiritual experience which turns learning into living. Our students get the opportunity to see what the abstract concepts of the Sabbath mean in real life, and the joy of that Shabbos help launch many of them on a new path of personal commitment.

  Sefer Torah Dedication

A beautiful Sfardi Sefer Torah was dedicated in January 2002
A beautiful Sfardi Sefer Torah was dedicated in January 2002 through the efforts of Rabbi Yaakov Sadigh. The ceremony for the dedication involved all of the school's student body in an assembly which explained the details of the writing of a Torah, had the last letters of the Torah completed and ended with a procession out of the building into the neighboring streets. Singing, dancing and musical accompaniment filled the neighborhood and the donor and his family were feted at a private seudah afterwards. It was a memorable day for all of us!

Ezra Academy students look forward to participating in the Salute to Israel Parade
The Salute to Israel Parade is a major event on the New York Jewish calendar, and Ezra's students look forward to participating in it yearly. Our marchers are always the most enthusiastic (and loudest!) to make it down Fifth Avenue. Attention Alumni: Reserve your Parade shirts and march with us next year!
